We spend about 1/3 of our life sleeping but for many of us it doesn't feel like we ever get any. Sleep or rather a lack thereof is a common complaint today. Columbus Children's Hospital Department of Urology provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services for children of all ages and teens with diseases of the genitourinary tract including consultations for urinary tract abnormalities detected in utero. Services range from primary urologic care to major reconstructive surgery of the urinary tract, genitalia and urinary sphincter. Surgical staff support team includes a stoma therapist, a nurse clinician and urodynamic technical and nursing staff. Diagnostic facilities include a complete urodynamics laboratory.
Children's Hospital Urology Department provides outreach & support services by hosting support groups for bladder exstrophy and major urological disorders.
Dr. Venkata Jayanthi, a pediatric urology expert at Columbus Children's Hospital, is available through NetWellness' "Ask an Expert" program to answer questions about children's urinary and genital problems.
