Faculty from the Department of Anesthesiology affiliated with Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals of Cleveland answer questions and write original content for NetWellness' section on Anesthesiology.
Anesthesiologists are members of any surgical team. The Department of Anesthesiology provides care that ranges from evaluation before surgery, care during surgery, and critical care and pain management after surgery. Consultation is also available for evaluation and therapy of respiratory problems, and musculoskeletal and neurological disorders involving ventilation. Anesthesiologists provide inpatient and outpatient consultation and staff a busy chronic pain clinic offering a variety of specialized pain therapies.
NetWellness, together with the Department of Anesthesiology at University Hospitals of Cleveland, has created an innovative online Pre-Anesthesia Interview. The information provided in this interview by the patient helps the anesthesiologist and other members of the medical team deliver careful, considerate, and error-free medical care. The interview should take no longer than 10-15 minutes. After completing the interview the patient prints it out and gives it to the anesthesiologist. The interview is completely private and anonymous. For additional information on the Department of Anesthesiology, please call 216.844.3777.
