Ohio Governor Honors NetWellness on its Tenth Anniversary

Resolution

Whereas, NetWellness is a non-profit, web-based consumer health information, education and"Ask an Expert" service developed by Ohio's three major medical research universities: University of Cincinnati, Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve University; and

Whereas, NetWellness, launched to ensure connection of Ohio's citizens to the internet, as established itself as a national and global resource and now receives over 50 million hits annually from an international audience; and

Whereas, NetWellness connects Ohio's major research medical institutions, whose faculty and staff volunteer their time to create and evaluate content and provide Ask an Expert service, to consumers throughout the world; and

Whereas, NetWellness fulfills its purpose to give consumers the knowledge needed to improve health, enhance provider/patient communication and reduce health care costs, serving all age groups and populations including minorities and underserved populations; and

Whereas, NetWellness has made Ohio an innovator and leader in personalizing health decision-making through consumer-centered health information technology.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BOB TAFT, Governor of the State of Ohio, do hereby recognize

NETWELLNESS

on the occasion of their 10th anniversary and I commend NetWellness and the University of Cincinnati, Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve University for providing this free, exceptional health resource to all Ohioans in the public interest and for collaborating to improve the health of Ohioans.
