Dr. Dennis Auckley is a Pulmonologist and Sleep Specialist who takes care of people with sleep disorders at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, OH. As an Associate Professor at the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, he teaches medical students and doctors-in-training and supervises their practice with patients. Dr. Auckley directs the MetroHealth Center for Sleep Medicine and has played a guiding role in its growth and development. In addition, his leadership roles in the MetroHealth Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship Program and the CWRU Sleep Fellowship Program fosters the next generation of sleep experts. Dr. Auckley researches general sleep disorders, including breathing disorders that occur during sleep. He has published articles and book chapters, including one in the 2011 edition of the Review of Sleep Medicine, a board preparatory book. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, his MD from Indiana University and his Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine training from the University of New Mexico. Dr. Auckley also serves on a number of national committees, including the Sleep Medicine NetWork steering committee of the American College of Chest Physicians, the Academic Affairs committee of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Membership committee of the Society of Anesthesia and Sleep Medicine.
