A graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine, Dr. Timothy E. O’Brien, completed his residency in internal medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland and practiced medicine at hospitals and clinics in the Cleveland area (1989-1994). He completed a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Case Western Reserve University (1994-1997) and immediately following joined the Division of Hematology and Oncology at MetroHealth Medical Center. In 2001, Dr. O’Brien became the Director of the Cancer Care Center and Division Chief of Hematology/Oncology at MetroHealth Medical Center. In the year 2005-2006, Dr. O’Brien was recognized as one of the “Best Doctors in America,” an honor bestowed by his peers in the field of medicine. In addition to his leadership responsibilities, Dr. O’Brien is also Director of the Hematology/Oncology Course for 2nd yr students at the Case School of Medicine. He also still sees patients, works with residents in training, is pursuing research interests, and publishes.
