Lucy Long is a Registered Nurse working as a Clinical Coordinator for the NIH sponsored ACCORD Diabetes Study in the Lipid Research Center at Saint Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland, Oh. Working with the care team, Ms. Long helps adults with Type 2 diabetes manage their blood sugars, Blood pressure and cholesterol issues and became certified as a Diabetes Educator this past year. Prior to that she has over 25 years experience in cardiovascular nursing which includes working in coronary care units, cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs and still works prn in the CCU at Lakewood Hospital. She has also done insulin pump training with Type 1 diabetics. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Rho Nu Chapter in Ashland, Oh, the American Diabetes Association, and Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland and has volunteered as a mentor for families of newly diagnosed children with diabetes for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She is a current ACLS provider, former ACLS instructor. Ms. Long received her BSN from the Medical College of Ohio at BGSU Firelands campus.
