Robert Schilz, DO, PhD

Dr. Robert Schilz received his PhD in Biochemistry and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) at Michigan State University and went on to a medical internship at EW Sparrow hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Dr. Schilz completed his residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation which was followed by a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at Yale University. He has been an assistant professor of medicine at the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University since 2002 and is currently the Medical Director of Lung Transplantation and Director of Pulmonary Vascular Disease at University Hospitals of Cleveland.

In 2004 Dr. Schilz was named Alumnus of the Year by the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and in 2006 he received the LifeBanc Recognition of Top Donor Hospital. Dr. Schilz serves on several hospital committees and national advisory boards. His areas of expertise include: Pulmonary Hypertension, Pulmonary Embolism, Lung Transplantation and Advanced Lung Disease, Lung Volume Reduction, COPD, Pulmonary Fibrosis, and Sjogren's Disease.
