From personal and professional experiences, Dr. Crane has an abiding interest in preventing nicotine addiction and is the founder and president of the Preventing Tobacco Addiction Foundation, an organization dedicated to both raising awareness about teen smoking and raising the legal minimum sale age for tobacco to age 21. He chairs Strategic Planning for the board of the state of Ohio's $300 million Tobacco Prevention Foundation and is co-chair of SmokeFree Columbus, the coalition that helped establish smokefree indoor air laws for Columbus and a dozen surrounding communities. He is also Board Chair of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for Ohio and West Virginia.
