Dr. Islam is an Associate Clinical Professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. His clinical research interests include interventional pulmonary procedures, lung cancer and pleural diseases. Dr. Islam does research on techniques to improve TBNA yield, diaphragm paralysis in critical illness, and management of non-malignant pleural effusions. He has published articles in journals like American Journal of Public Health, Controlled Clinical Trials, and Pediatrics, to name a few. He went to the University of Dhaka and graduated with M.B.B.S. in Medicine and Surgery. In addition, he received his M.P.H. degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Boston University. Dr. Islam is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He belongs to the American College of Chest Physicians and American Association of Bronchology.
