Dr. Martin Hawver received her Bachelor's Degree and Medical Degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. From 2001 to 2006, Dr. Martin Hawver completed her residency in the Department of General Surgery at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. While there, she received the SLS Outstanding Laparoendoscopic Resident in 2006. She began her fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the Virginia Commonwealth University in 2006. She joined the faculty at the University of Cincinnati in 2007, where she is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery. Dr. Martin Hawver is also part of the multidisciplinary UC Surgeons Center for Surgical Weight Loss team. Her special interests are minimally invasive and laparoscopic gastrointestinal and endocrine surgery; LAP-BAND Adjustable Gastric Banding procedure and laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery as treatments for obesity.
