Neal Meropol, MD, received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University in Philosophy, and his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland, Case Western Reserve University. In addition, he completed fellowships in medical oncology and hematology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He also spent a sabbatical at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Recognized by Cleveland Magazine in its “Best Doctors” issue, and ranked in the top 1% of physicians by the US News and World Report, Dr. Meropol is renowned for his research in gastrointestinal malignancies and health services. He serves as co-Chair of the National Cancer Institute Gastrointestinal Cancer Steering Committee, and is an elected member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology Board of Directors. Dr. Meropol is currently the Lester E. Coleman, Jr. Professor of Cancer Research and Therapeutics and Chief of the Division of Hematology and Oncology at University Hospitals Case Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University. He also serves as Associate Director for Clinical Research at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center and Associate Director for Clinical Programs at the University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center.
