March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

Be Aware!Cancer of the colon or rectum is the third most common type of cancer for both men and women. Colorectal cancer is preventable, and is easy to treat and often curable when detected early.

A little known fact is that African-Americans are more likely to be diagnosed with colorectal cancer at later stages of the disease, and at a younger age. New research shows that African Americans should begin screening at age 45 - talk to your doctor about what you can do to stay healthy!
