What does it do?

The pancreas secretes two kinds of hormones:

1. Digestive enzymes – these help break down carbohydrates, fats, and proteins into simple “building blocks” that give cells energy.

2. Insulin – the amount insulin produced by the pancreas regulates the glucose levels in the body.

What is glucose?

Glucose is a simple sugar and one of the most important building blocks of energy in the body!
