When eating French foods…

  • Ask the waiter to skip the bread basket, or limit yourself to just one piece of bread. If possible, choose the French bread over the croissant.
  • Ask the cook to use less butter and oil.
  • Go for wine-based sauces instead of creamy sauces.
  • Skip the olives, capers and anchovies. Try steamed mussels or a salad (with dressing on the side).
  • Go for lightly sauteed, steamed, or raw vegetables instead of creamy “au gratin” potatoes.
