Question: I am 25 years old and i can just cant`s even fit into an A cup bra properly. I was 10 years old when my period started so its not that i was late in the pubity department. I have tried all sorts of natural methods, tablets, pumps etc which did nothing for me. Is there something wrong with me? I cant . . .
Answer: I can hear the concern in your question.

First, it would be important to have an exam by a provider to determine if all your hormone levels are appropriate. It is hard to tell from just an email communication if everything is OK in that department.

Then I would look to your f . . .
Ask an Expert: Elizabeth Barker PhD, APRN, BC, FAANP,CHE, Women's Health

Costochondritis

Question: I had a realy bad cough to the point were I would throw up while coughing. I developed stabing chest pains and I knew it was from coughing. So I did my regular home treatments of Tylenol, rest heat and ice. But the pain was still getting worse even though I was not coughing any more. I went to my do . . .
Answer: The problem with costochondritis is that it takes a while to heal, up to 6 weeks or more. Unlike an inflammed wrist or other joint, it would be difficult to splint the ribs. This, combined with the fact that we take 12-16 breaths per minute, delays the healing process. Continued use of NSAIDs and he . . .
Ask an Expert: W. Miser MD, Women's Health

Question: I read that women with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome often have the retrovirus XMRV in their blood? What blood test diagnoses XMRV? My doctor said he does not offer it. Where can I get this test? And would a CBC or MET test show if a woman has a retrovirus?

Im a bit worried to what it is and at times i feel discomfort. can you help me please. My body has been changing quiet . . .
Answer: Vaginal discharge that is clear and non-odorous is normal.
Primolut-N to Prepare for a Hysterectomy

Question: Hi.. I am a 44 yr old female who is preparing for a Hysterectomy. Due to consistent heavy periods for most of my life I am severly anaemic. i have decided to have a hysterectomy. My Blood Count is presently 7.0. My doctor won`t operate until its at least 11. Since I do not want a blood transfusion, . . .
Answer: A common reason to have a hysterectomy is heavy menstrual bleeding. This bleeding can be so heavy that a woman becomes severely anemic. However, being severely anemic can also lead to complications of surgery, which is why doctors may take one of several approaches to improve the anemia prior . . .
Ask an Expert: Jonathan Schaffir MD, Women's Health

Conceiving

Question: Dear Doctors, my boyfriend and i have been together for a long time. We`ve talked about having a baby, but we want it to happen on its own. So, with that said, I am on the birth control pill, Ortho-Tri Cyclin Lo, and for a little over 6 months now, we`ve had intercourse somewhere 3-5 times . . .
Answer: Your question is somewhat confusing. You say that you are on birth control pills, but hope to get pregnant. If this is correct, you should stop taking birth control pills if you want to get pregnant.

If you actually stopped birth control pills 6 months ago (which would make more sense), . . .
Ask an Expert: William Hurd MD, Women's Health

I havent star . . .
Answer: You should repeat the urine pregnancy test on your first morning's urine. If this is negative and you still haven't gotten a period, then you should see your health care provider to have a blood pregnancy test.
Ask an Expert: Lisa Keder MD, MPH, Women's Health
