Parkinsons, dementia & seroquel08/27/1999 |
Doctor, my mother has parkinson`s and a severe dementia. It has not been determined whether the dementia is parkinsons or alzheimers or something else. Would seroquel be of any benefit to her, to reduce the effect of sinemet, which seems to worsen the dementia?
Seroquel is very useful in controlling hallucinations and psychotic behavior that occur as a side effect of Sinemet in advanced cases of PD. It unfortunately, does not help dementia, so improvement in memory, orientation and judgement are not likely to be helped.
