Interstitial Cystitis

05/25/2000

Question:

Is a special diet needed for interstitial cystitis?

Answer:

Interstitial disease of the bladder, as opposed to the renal parenchyma, is not a process with which I am familiar; nor, do my reference books refer to it. If you have a urologist or nephrologist on your staff, this might be more appropriate for this person. Otherwise, my response is the following:

"Not as far as I know, but I doubt it."
