HIV and AIDS
What Is The History Of AIDS With Minority Women?
What is the history of AIDS with minority women?
(This is quite a global question and a complete answer is beyond the bounds of a typical Q&A format.) HIV infection disproportionately affects women of ethnic and racial minorities. In part this reflects the introduction of HIV into these communities through male partners who were drug users, some of whom had multiple female partners. It may also reflect different attitudes toward demanding condom use by their partners. In some cultures, this is seen as tantamount to the woman`s having "loose" morals, so women are less likely to have protected sex.
