Asthma

Excersising and Identifying Asthma

10/10/2000

Question:

When I run in gym, I get short of breath and my chest hurts. Could this be asthma?

Answer:

Your symptoms sound like you could possibly have asthma perhaps exacerbated by exercise. However there are other conditions that may give similar symptoms and I would suggest that you contact your family physician for further evaluation. Only a detailed history and physical exam by a healthcare professional can provide enough information to make a specific diagnosis. Please discuss your concerns with your healthcare provider.
