Lupus

MG and Lupus

12/10/2000

Question:

My sister in law was recently diagnosed with MG. Her mother and aunt have Lupus. I also know of another friend who has a family member with MG whose mother had Lupus. Is this common in families to have one member with Lupus and another with MG?

Answer:

It is common to have several family members with Lupus because there are genetic factors involved in the development of this disease. Unfortunately, I don`t know what disease MG stands for.
