Loose tooth how long?03/04/2001 |
my 5 1/2 year old daughter has had her first loose tooth now for 3 weeks and has still no fallen out. she does not play with it. i assume it will eventually fall out when the adult tooth starts to protrude and pushes it out of the way. is this correct? how long does it usually take for a tooth to fall out especially when they dont even wiggle it?
It is not uncommon for loose baby teeth to `hang in there` for several months. Children vary in their eagerness and aggressiveness in wiggling teeth out and very rarely do any problems develop. Consult a children`s dentist if your daughter`s permanent teeth begin to erupt `behind` the loose baby teeth.
