Anxiety and Stress Disorders (Children)
Child Anxiety and Medication
My child seems very distressed all the time. I want to take him to a doctor but fear they will automatically put him on meds. What should I do?
Persistent anxiety can be associated with many emotional and physical health problems. That`s why seeing your doctor is a good idea. Anxiety disorders in children however are common and readily treatable with behavioral therapies. These therapies however are specific for each type of anxiety problem and not every practicioner has expertise in these area`s. I would suggest that you consult with your child`s physician about treatment options.
