Parkinson`s Disease05/25/2001 |
My 59 year old husband has been referred to a neurologist by his primary care physician and the term on the referral sheet is `parkinsonism`. However he only spoke to us briefly about Parkinson`s Disease, not any other diseases. Since we cannot see the neurologist until August, we are left wondering. Are there any symptoms that are specifically related to parkinsonism? Is there anything we can indicate to the neurologist that might help him differentiate between PD and parkinsonism. Thanks so much for your help.
A good resource ishttp://www.wemove.org
that gives an idea of the symptoms of PD as well as other forms of parkinsonism such as Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
You can also look at the FAQ on this site as well as browse through previous questions for an idea.
