Final Stages of Parkinsons09/20/2001 |
My father is in a nursing home. He is 76. He has a pubic cathytor, alheizmers and parkinsons. The Drs have told me he is in the "final stages" of Parkinsons. They also said that the alheizmers is no longer responding to medication. He is in a wheelchair but only makes sounds and although he seems to know us he doesn`t seem to know anything else. What does that mean and how long does it last? He has had Parkinsons for almost 20 years that we know of. At first he was treated for unvoluntary tremors but it turned out to be Parkinsons.
Prognosis at this stage is poor. However, it is not possible to predict longevity in such cases.
