What Does The Rash For HIV Look Like?07/27/2001 |
I had unprotected sex 10 days ago and now I have a rash that looks like little red dots that itch. If you scratch them they blotch up red and patchy. The rash has moved from my arms to my hands and feet. I also have a little on my back. I do not feel bad otherwise, except for the stress I am putting myself through thinking this could be acute HIV symptoms. I also have a paste in my mouth. What does the rash for acute HIV look like and does it itch?
The skin rash of acute HIV infection is characterized by a generalized reddened macular and papular eruption, usually involving the trunk and limbs. It may be mildly pruritic or itchy.
