Erectile Dysfunction (ED)
Pudendal nerve testing
I am a two year post operative radical prostectomy, with ED. I work in clinical neurophysiology so the test I propose can be easily done. If we do pudendal nerve somatosensory evoked potential testing and can demonstrate that nerve function is adequate, is there a surgical procedure to "fix" any "mechanical" dysfunction, e.g. sphincter or other?
Thank you for your time.
There are centers that have reported the use of placing the sural nerve at the time of surgery to help prevent erectile problems, but no one has reported placing this nerve graft in post-operatively. I am not aware of the sphincter nerves being replaced at all.
