Thinness and Osteoperosis01/10/2002 |
My grown brother, sister and I all have extremely skinny arms and lower legs. My brother and I both have partials ,despite good dental, eating, and general hyigene. Are these symptoms of ostroperosis? Should we be screened earlier? What are the most common signs? My sister is 36 and has raynaud`s and extremly high hard to control blood pressure , and migraines.
Being thin does not necessarily mean that one should have a bone density test at a young age. If there is a strong family history of osteoporosis and you have already had low trauma fractures, an evaluation would be appropriate. Check with your dentist as to why you have partials. Then review the entire picture with your clinician.
