Anxiety and Stress Disorders (Children)
Hyperthyroidism and Anxiety
Can you further explain how hyperthyroidism is related to anxiety?
It is extremely uncommon to have hyperthyroidism as a child. Often the symptoms of hyperthyroidism, shakiness, rapid pulse, agitation, excessive activity get mistaken for `anxiety` symptoms. Conversely, patients with hyperthyroidism do subjectively feel anxious and jittery but the underlying cause is medical not psychological.
