Swollen lymph nodes02/24/2003 |
I have had a swollen lymph node in my groin area for the past 8-10 months, which my doctor is not concerned about. I recently found another swollen node on the other side of my groin area. I have not been sick or have any reason to have swollen lymph nodes. Should I get a second opinion? Are swollen lymph nodes normal in the absence of illness?
Groin lymph nodes DO NOT necessarily indicate disease serious or mild. Especially in young persons, increased size of lymph nodes may appear for trivial reasons. If they become painful, grow as time goes by, or appear in other lymphoid chains, like axilla, neck etc, they may require more careful examination.
