Urinary Disorders

What restricts a womans urine flow?

08/20/2002

Question:

What would make my urine flow restricted? I`m a 47 year old (not pregnant) woman, so it can`t be a prostate problem. And I was put on antibiodics for a bladder infections two weeks ago. Once before the urologist gave me flomax, which helped.

Answer:

There can be muscle spasms around the opening of the bladder which can result in a restricted flow. Flomax is helpful in these situations. Spasms can result from an infection and should resolve within a week of satisfactory treatment of an infection. I hope this information is helpful to you.
