Sodium Levels and the Progression of Alzheimer's Disease11/26/2002 |
My father is 81 and has had multiple mini strokes. His neurologist has said he could have Alzheimer's disease. Recently, he has had more mini strokes. He had been extremely tired before the MRI showed two new mini strokes. In the hospital, his sodium level dropped dramatically. What could cause this? He took a fall also, and he had a bleed into his brain. Could medication cause the sodium level to drop. Could the fall have caused it?
