Question:

need to know if you are aware of urethral sling procedure? am considering surgery and very nervous and scared. am not able to find info. there are alot of procedures. is the tvt the same as urethral sling? what is the surgery outcome and success? where can i find info?

Answer:

Urethral sling procedures are commonly used today for treating urinary incontinence in women. There are many procedures; however, the TVT is a relatively new one that has proven to be very successful. The procedure can be performed in less than an hour, not uncommonly as an outpatient, and has a success rate in the range of greater than 90%. I am sure your physician can discuss the details of the procedure with you. I hope this information is helpful to you.
