Incontinence |
Hernia repair.... now have incontinence05/09/2003 |
I had surgery for umbilical hernia repair approx 4 1/2 months ago. Now when I stretch or bend or even sit,I become incontinent. A mesh was used for repair and surgery was incisional not laproscopic. Hernia was medium to large in size. Is this normal and will it go away or can I do something as far as exercise to help it stop?
I am unsure that the incontinence is related to the hernia repair. There are exercises that are helpful and are call Kegel exercises. I suggest you discuss this with your physician and I am sure he/she can provide you with information as to how they are carried out. That information should also be available in most libraries.
