Smoking and Tobacco

Subliminal tapes-smoking

06/07/2004

Question:

Are there any subliminal tapes/cds out there to help you quit smoking???

Answer:

Stress is a prime trigger for smoking behavior. Quitting smoking itself can be a very stressful experience. Anything anyone can do to relieve stress might make it a little easier to quit. It`s always a good idea to discuss your stress levels with your physician.

There are literally thousands of subliminal/relaxation tapes/books available on the market. A recent web search of Amazon.com yielded over 20,000 results for relaxation tapes/books, and almost 3,000 results for subliminal tapes/books. Tapes are also available for sale in bookstores, and can even be borrowed free from the public libraries.

Hypnosis is another technique you might have heard of used to help people quit smoking, and is based on a form of relaxation. Anyone interested in hypnosis can contact the American Lung Association`s web site or Quit Line for information on local offerings:

American Lung Association web site: http://www.lungusa.org      (1-800-LUNG-USA)

American Lung Association Quit Line: 1-866-QUIT-YES      (1-866-784-8937)
