I have two crowns next to each other on the lower left. Food continues to get stuck between the two crowns. After vigoris flossing, my gum is all irritated and swollen on the inside part behind the two crowns. Will this subside or do I need to see the dentist? I have no insurance for dental care and am scheduled to see the dentist in April for regular care. Any advice?
Any irritation should subside within 7-10 days. If it does not, I would schedule an appointment to see your dentist. Also, if this is an ongoing problem, I would definitely have the dentist take a look at the 2 crowns to be sure they fit right and that there aren`t any problems associated with them. If things get better, I would still mention to your dentist at your appointment in April the situation you described.
