Breast Cancer

Blood spot

03/02/2004

Question:

i have a blood spot on the side of one of my breast dose that mean i could have breast cancer?

Answer:

Thank you for your question. I`m not sure what you mean by a blood spot. I interpret it as a small, round, nonraised red spot. It is usually caused by a trauma, like a bra wire or injury that caused bleeding within the dermis. A red spot is not a classic sign of breast cancer. If this spot does not go away after a few weeks or if it gets larger, you should see your doctor for a definite diagnosis.
