Natural sources of lithium
I`ve heard of beneficial effects of lithium. I have also heard that lemons and limes are good sources of natural lithium. Is this true? Are there other dietary (vegetables, fruits, etc.) sources of lithium?
Thanks for your question. Lithium is a metal that is used in medications such as lithium sulphate to treat depression and manic disorders. From what I could find about lithium, citrus fruits were not listed as sources, but potatoes, dairy products, vegetables, sugar cane and eggs were.
As for `beneficial effects of lithium`, food sources should not be considered a substitute for a prescription of lithium. For more information, contact your health care provider or a pharmacist.
