Fructose Bonding and Vitamin Absorption
Has there been anymore research in regards to "fructose bonding" and the bodies ability to assimilate nutrients, namely vitamins and minerals that are produced by Melaleuca. Thank You
I find no evidence of any published research regarding fructose compounding, which is a nutrient delivery system patented by the manufacturer, Malaleuca, to deliver minerals to the body`s cells. The theory behind the patent is that dietary supplements of minerals that are bound to fructose are more apt to be incorporated into body cells than the ionized form of the mineral or one bound to some other compound. An old posting on the internet stated that Ohio State University was involved in a study of 350 supplements on human subjects that included the Melaleuca brand of fructose compounded minerals. According to spokespeople in the OSU Dept. of Biochemistry this information was bogus. A phone call to the department today (6-7-2004) confirmed that no one is doing or has done any research to confirm the Malaleuca claims.
