Urinary Tract Cancers

Bladder Cancer

4 years aqo, my wife had a superficial polyp removed from her bladder. She has gone for the recommended 3 month and then 6 month cystoscopies. This week the exam showed a new tiny polyp, which will be removed in 3 weeks. I understand that there is a high frequency of recurrence of superficial lesions but in general terms, how often may they turn invasive?

The likelihood of developing invasive disease is low - approximately 10%.  Follow-up as she is having is important and should be continued.
