Alternatives to Lupron when it Reaches its Ineffective?07/20/2004 |
Has there been any new treatments for advanced (stage 4-metastacised) cancer developed since lupron? What should be done when Lupron reaches its ineffective stage?
Oftentimes a medication called Casodex will be started. This is a pill that is taken once daily. If not effective there are various chemotherapy regimens and trials that are being tested. Most major medical centers have these available and physicians in either the department of urology or in medical oncology can discuss these options with you.
