Embarrassing

Question:

I would like to have a female physician as my primary care doctor because I think they listen better and are more thorough. My problem is that the few times I visited a female doctor for a physical, I had a spontaneous erection during the exam. I was not aroused by the experience, it was just a reaction that I could not control. My question: Is this a common occurance when males are being examined by a female doctor? Would the female doctor be offended if this happened?

This question is not related to our subject area.  I suspect this may be a common occurrence, however, speaking directly with your personal physician may resolve your concerns.
