Build muscle mass
How long does it take to build muscle mass that makes a difference in burning calories? How many calories does a fat burn? Thank you.
Muscle tissue actually burns more calories than fat. Following a consistent exercise program will help to build muscles and help burn fat faster. Exercise also increases the body's metabolism, which in turn burns more calories. A good estimate is that for every pound of muscle you gain, the body will burn 30-50 additional calories per day. To lose one pound of fat you have to burn 3,500 more calories than you consume. This can be achieved through diet by decreasing your caloric intake and through exercise by increasing your energy expenditure. Establishing a daily routine and increasing the amount of physical activity you do will help to increase your metabolism and burn more calories.
