What is the dry spot on the back of my neck it is the size of my index finger
I am sorry that you did not give me more information about your spot. Dry, scaly lesions often have a life history that helps in the diagnosis. There may be other findings that help us such as pustules around the margin. If the lesion is acute, there is one set of differential diagnostic possibilities; if it is chronic and unchanging over months or years, there is quite a different one. For the moment, until you can see your Board-certified dermatologist, you might wish to try Eucerin calming cream as a moisturizer and soothing preparation. It should not interfere with the diagnostic tests that your dermatologist may perform. Please see your Board-certified dermatologist at your earliest convenience.
