Sun burn/ sun poisoning

Hi. My mom got sun burn and now she says it is sun poisoning and she said it itches like crazy it is on her legs.... what can she do to make it go away or stop the itching????? thank you oh she said that she has bumps but they are not water/fluid bumps that you can just pop and then peel. says there is no fluid in them at all.... thank you

This depends on when the bumps appeared on your mom's legs. True sun poisoning is called Solar Urticaria. It is a rare reaction to sun exposure. This is a true sun allergy. It develops rapidly--moments after exposure, the skin begins to itch, and then becomes red. Wheals or vesicles (bumps) appear. The actual mechanism that causes this reaction is unknown, however, antihistamines, such as Benadryl, are effective in treating the reactions of some patients and will relieve some of the itching.
