I am 53 years old and post-menopausal. For years now my hemoglobin has been around 15 and my hematocrit around 44. Does this put me at risk of iron overload? Thank you.
Possibly. I would encourage you to meet with your physician who can determine from your history and especially your family history if further testing such as blood levels relative to iron or other testing would be helpful in your case.
