Will Prostate Cancer Spread to Kindneys from Bladder?09/29/2005 |
I already know the cancer has destroyed the bladder and now have an Nephrostomy Tube located in the back area. Is there any chance the cancer could be attacking the kidneys as well? Does this mean the cancer is progressing?
The malignancy will invade the ureters - the tubes that drain urine from the kidneys to the bladder and because of likely obstruction a nephrostomy was placed. Prostate cancer typically does not invade the kidneys.
I hope this information is helpful to you. I am sure your urologist can answer some of these questions.
