Does any mole that appears after the age of forty of so become suspect of melanoma?
Any suspicious mole, whether congenital or acquired (meaning it showed up later in life), should be examined if there is concern for melanoma. Warning signs include but are not limited to asymmetrical shape, poorly-defined borders, mixture of colors, large diameter.
