Itchy skin12/28/2005 |
For the past two years I suffer from extremley itchy skin. I take Zirtek allery tablet that stops the itching, but if I miss one its back with avengance. My skin is not dry or greasy. Do you think I have an Allergy ? should I have a allergy test?
It is true that the most common benign cause of itchy skin is dryness. If dryness is not the problem, you must see a dermatologist for a better evaluation. There is a long list of possibilities when it comes to itchy skin - some more worrisome than others. Allergic reactions are possible but depending on the allergen, they usually present with definite skin lesions, rather than just generalized itching.
