Blood test for meth

12/14/2005

Question:

i would like to no why i had a dirty blood test for meth when i have not used in over 2 years

Answer:

The only explanation that I can think of is that it was a screening test and you used something that gave a false positive on a screen. However, if a screen is positive, a confirmation test should be done, and if the confirmation is positive then it is a true positive test. Not everyone who does a drug test does a confirmation. You can challenge the result, especially if your job depends on it. Then if only a screen was done, they could request a confirmation to show for sure what the result is. Confirmation tests are done in one of 2 ways that are both accurate. Only the true substance can show a positive on a confirmation test.
