Poison ivy rash

Question:

How quickly can someone break out in a rash after direct contact with poison ivy?

Answer:

Generally, it typically takes 48 hours for poison ivy to develop as this is a form of delayed type hypersensitivity.  However, in very sensitive individuals it may manifest as early as 24-36 hours.  It will vary from individual to individual.
